In 1999, writer and feminist activist Andrea Dworkin was drugged and raped in her Paris hotel room. The following year, she published an account that was met with incredulity. Even sympathizers questioned her veracity and her sanity.

At her death in 2005, she left behind another version: a long, fierce, and very personal one, that she had never shown to anyone.
In Aftermath, edited from her unpublished manuscript, Dworkin probes the blank space the drug left in her memory, questioning the meaning of her decades-long fight for women. Aftermath is not only a testimony of a crime, but a rare portrait of a revolutionary’s private struggle.

Running time is approximately 95 minutes.
There is no intermission.

Audience Advisory:
Strong Accounts of Sexual Assault
and Unresolved Suicidal Thoughts
