Rhinoceros is an old play with contemporary themes. When people of a small French town suddenly start turning into rhinos, it’s up to the everyman Berenger to decide whether or not to fight these new and absurd developments.

A play about how the unusual and absurd can become dangerously accepted. A play about the ugly nature of conformity and mob mentality. Rhinoceros is a play by the renowned absurdist Eugène Ionesco, written in 1959, and a commentary on sudden upsurge of fascism during the events preceding World War II.
