Presented by Compañia Maria Serrano

Sunday, February 5, 2023, at 3PM

In Person at Aki Studio

“Alma de Mujeres”, which translates to “Women’s Soul” in Spanish, this production explores themes of identity as a woman: loneliness, self-worth, and freedom. Flamenco is an artistic expression born from the mixture of many cultures and a universal language, the art of emotions. Maria Serrano wants to share those emotions through flamenco lyrics, dance, music and expressions.

She soon travelled half the world with famous ensembles such as Meme Menjibar, Javier Barón, Carmen y Carmelilla Montoya, and Antonio "El Pipa".In 1993 André Heller chose her for his production "Magneten", and in that show, she enchanted the audience in Germany, Austria and Switzerland for six months. From 1995 until 1998, Maria Serrano toured with different companies all over Europe for the Bienal de Arte Flamenco.
