Aren Okemaysim

Aren Okemaysim is a multidisciplinary performing arts professional from Beardy’s & Okemasis Cree Nation (Treaty 6) currently based in Treaty 4, Regina, SK where he is currently Head of Sound for Globe Theatre. Appearing across Turtle Island as an actor, songwriter, musician, sound designer and sound technician, he is no stranger to the stage. He finds himself most at home while on the road, creating and sharing stories with his colleagues across the country.  
 
He recently made a “behind-the-scenes” appearance at Native Earth back in August 2022 to perform in the final workshop for Joelle Peters’ Niizh. He is happy to be back sharing this world premier with Tkaronto audiences and connecting with the arts community.

  • In Care, world premiere (Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre)
