James Dallas Smith is an actor, musician, and writer with Six Nations Mohawk of the Grand River and Scottish heritage. He was born in Brantford, raised in Port Elgin and now happily resides in Toronto, ON with his lovely wife, beautiful cat and small, barbarian child.
Although he’s been on stage (in bands and theatre) for more than twenty years, this is his first time composing. Favourite performing credits include: Almighty Voice and His Wife (earning a Dora nomination for Outstanding Performance in a Featured Role and also directed by Jani Lauzon), King Lear, Our Town at Soulpepper, MacBeth (Great Southwest Shakespeare Festival), Ipperwash, The Berlin Blues (Blyth), Ipperwash, This is How We Got Here (Native Earth), Proof, Drawer Boy (Centaur), Hard Times For These Times (NAC), A Midsummer Night’s Dream, As You Like It, (Driftwood Theatre), Hayfever, Anne of Green Gables (Thousand Islands Playhouse), Heart of a Distant Tribe (CIT/Equity Showcase).
