PJ Prudat

PJ is a Treaty 6 born, proud Métis/nehiyaw (roots to Batoche, Glen Mary, Red River, Qu’Appelle) & european descended playwright, actor and writer.  She holds artistic/creator residencies with Nightswimming and the Theatre Centre and is a Co-Artistic Director at Shakespeare in the Ruff (her play Otîhêw is Ruff’s summer 2022 flagship production ). PJ has performed as a company actor at the Shaw Festival, the National Arts Centre English & Indigenous Theatres and in luminous IBPOC creative-led shows across the country, most recently reprising the solo show Café Daughter at Blyth and in Iphigenia and the Furies at Theatre Passe Muraille. Her maternal 3rd great-grandparents were Buffalo hunters, Résistance fighters and Treaty Six hereditary-chief signatories. She loves tacos, hats, poetry, and believes horses and riding are what dreams are made of.
