Smith Purdy is a Mi’Kmaq Métis from Kespu’kwitk district, otherwise known as Sou’West Nova Scotia, currently living in Toronto. They are a writer, performer, and Walker with several years experience in theatre, film, and puppetry, and a diploma in acting for film and television. Smith is interested in drawing connections between seemingly unrelated fields of study, and strengthening the “web” of our communities. They enjoy reading books about prison breaks and also non-fiction by forensic entomologists. Their artwork reflects their unique perspective as a Two-Spirited person with autism, looking at familiar subjects from unexpected angles.
