This year the 50+ Festival brings you a taste of theatre! The Estelle Craig ACT II STUDIO, part of Programs for 50+ and Community Engagement at the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, is unveiling three Stella Award* winning plays and their latest social action theatre creation. They are also offering a special hands-on-workshop in creating theatre. A weekend of theatre not to be missed!
*The Stella Awards recognize older adult playwrights participating in Programs for 50+ and Community Engagement at the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, Ryerson University.
Description of the four plays:
● The Social Action Theatre Project developed by Simon Malbogat: Stories of modern challenges. Developed with Forum Theatre techniques used world-wide to inspire understanding, social action and change.
● Joyce and Florence by Pat Cochrane: Two homeless seniors living in a city park make life choices.
● The Argument by Rhona Bennett: Smart, ambitious spouses discover irreconcilable differences as time passes.
● The Seven Deadly Sins by Cathy Shilton: The 7 Deadly Sins’ brand is losing ground. Can its marketing agency restore the sins’ former glory?
